Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us if we do not have an answer for you below!

Q1. How much does it cost to install an EV charger? The cost, which does not include a breaker panel upgrade, typically ranges between $750 - $1000 but can vary based on factors such as the distance from the charger to your breaker panel and whether or not your breaker panel room is finished.

Q2. Is there more than one EV charger option? We offer two options, both of which are highly recommended. A level 2 wall outlet that supplies 240V at 48A (10.8kW), and a portable charger that supplies 240V at 32A (7.68kW). *Note that the portable charger is an adapter. Not a battery.

Q3. Do you install EV chargers for condos/apartments? Currently, we focus more towards houses. Although possible, you would be required to first gain permission from your building's administration.

Q4. Can you install an EV charger for residences without a garage? Yes! We can install waterproof outlets outside.

Q5. Do I need a breaker panel upgrade? If your main breaker is rated for less than 200A, we highly recommend getting it upgraded. In some cases however, especially if you do not use many major appliances, a 100A main breaker will still work.

Q6. Will the EV charger work during heavy snow or rain? If installed outdoors, the outlet will be waterproof and will work fine regardless of the weather. However, if a power outage occurs, this may cause the charger to lose power.

Q7. What is the difference between a wall outlet and a portable charger? A wall outlet stays in your home and can charge your EV faster than a portable charger can. A portable charger, on the other hand, is cheaper and can be carried while driving, allowing you to charge while abroad. *Note that the portable charger is an adapter. Not a battery.

Q8. What are the "levels" of an EV charger? Level 1 is the standard 120V that most outlets in your wall carry. It can fully charge your car in about a day and is acceptable if you do not plan to drive often. Level 2 is the 240V version of level 1. It can fully charge your car overnight and is the best option for daily use. This is what we install. Level 3 is found at public shopping centres, gas stations, and other service stations. They work at 400-800V and are capable of fully charging your car within a few hours.

Q9. Do EV chargers work for all vehicles? Tesla chargers will work for any Tesla model but no other make. Other electric vehicles all share a standardized charger.
